Haul 3
Orbit Thieves
A multiplayer arena in deep space. Your tiny ship gathers satellites that circle it in rings: every one is a shield against the next shot and a round of ammunition for your own. Fire one to knock satellites out of another pilot's orbit, then swoop in and steal them before he can take them back. Three trading stations drift around the sector, where satellites buy engines, magnets, cannons and armour: every trade makes you stronger and smaller at once. Grow, attack or escape, every few seconds, with up to sixteen pilots in a room.
How to play
- Fly toward the mouse, or with W A S D or the arrows. On a touch screen, the stick at the bottom left steers.
- Collect loose satellites by flying through them. They join your orbit: the more you hold, the wider and slower you get.
- Fire with a click or Space at the pointer, or the Fire button, which aims at the ship ahead. Each shot is a satellite from your orbit. A hit knocks satellites out of the target's orbit toward you; for a moment only you can take them, and he can't take them back: fly into them to steal them.
- A ship hit with an empty orbit is knocked out. Its wreck spills salvage, and the pilot starts again small.
- Dash with Shift or the Dash button. A dash ram knocks satellites loose from the ship you hit and costs you none.
- Trade at a station: fly inside its ring and press E or Dock. The Wheel sells engines, thrusters and afterburners; Magpie's Nest a tractor, a faster launcher and a rail; The Bastion cargo rings, plating and a breaker. Nobody can hit a docked ship, but a station only holds you for ten seconds.
- The boards: each run is scored by its peak haul, the satellites in your orbit plus those spent on upgrades. Signed-in pilots appear on the daily and all-time top 10 by username.
