Nutty Run
An endless runner in a world built for someone much bigger. Russet the red squirrel dashes through a giant park, along the chimney tops, into the autumn woods and through a lantern-lit night market, dodging flowerpots, garden boots, rolling hedgehogs and the odd hungry hawk. The course never ends and never repeats, and it gets faster the further you go.
How to play
- Change lanes: swipe left or right, or press Left / Right (or A / D).
- Jump: swipe up, or press Up, W or Space. Jump over low things and rollers.
- Duck: swipe down, or press Down or S. Your squirrel drops onto all fours and runs low under bars. In the air, this dives straight down.
- Walls: run up a ramp and along the top. With Springs you can jump straight onto them.
- Bumps: clipping the side of something makes you dizzy. A second bump while dizzy ends the run.
- Hawks: when a hawk screeches, a red ring marks where it will strike. Be in another lane when it lands.
- P or Esc pauses. M mutes.
- Gamepad: the d-pad or left stick changes lanes, jumps and ducks; the bottom button jumps, the right button ducks and Start pauses.
Power-ups
- Whirlwind pulls in every acorn nearby. Twin Acorns counts every acorn twice.
- Springs let you jump high enough to land on walls. Flying Squirrel turns you into a glider, high above everything.
- Acorn Helmet takes one hit for you. Spend acorns in the shop to make every power-up last longer.
Distance, acorns and missions
How far you run is what counts: your longest run is your best. Acorns are worth more the further you go, one more for every kilometre: 1 each in the park, 2 on the rooftops, and so on. Spend them in the shop.
You always have three missions. Finish all three for acorns, and every third set a golden acorn. The Daily Dash is a new course every day, the same for everyone, with a twist such as Hawk Day or Golden Hour. Run it on several days in a row to build a streak.
